I am excited to be teaching Gateway to Technology (GTT) to Prairie Winds' 7th and 8th graders this year!
The GTT curriculum is part of Project Lead the Way and is designed to let students explore engineering through engaging, hands-on activities that develop communication and problem solving skills. Students will explore a variety of topics that connect the worlds of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. The 7th grade curriculum focuses on concepts related to green architecture and electronics. The 8th grade curriculum focuses on concepts related to automation and robotics. More information about Project Lead the Way is available through the PLTW link at the left.
I am also a VEX robotics coach for Mankato East High School and Prairie Winds Middle School. Our VEX Robotics teams complete in a worldwide competition to design, construct, and iterate a robot to meet a yearly challenge. The VEX teams meet after school starting in mid-September. If you would like more information about the VEX robotics competition or about our Mankato East team, please use the links on the left or contact me directly.
